Posted 03 May – I gave macgregor a chance because of the price. Anyway, now that I know I would be willing to pay more. The one-piece body structure of the NVG2 Driver was engineered with an incredibly thin crown. Well balanced – with the graphite shafts you get a lot of club head speed plus forgiveness.

MacGregor MACTEC NVG2 Tour Driver Review

The shaft worked great, in my experience, but it might have been a marketing problem. Thanks to the ever-decreasing length of the product cycle in the golf business, MacGregor launched two new versions of the driver this Macgtegor. Trampolining effect Had this driver for a while until I heard it’s an illegal club for competition.

Shaft is a Grafalloy Prolaunch Red Xflex 65g i think. I love this driver!! But it does not really seem go give up all that much hitting into the wind either.

Lots of bold scoops and angles on the tri-plane sole, and plenty of logos and lettering. Several functions may not work. It looked good, sat cleanly behind the ball and sounded amazing; ball flight was bang-on, giving a feel of effortless power and control.

I tried to find the NVG2 driver back in on ebay but couldn’t find one and then forgot all about til I saw this. I’d say however that they also lauch the ball much higher that I used to get on an iron for iron basis which is helping me as I hit a low ball mainly.

At first I found myself fading unintentionally, and later found that perhaps because the shaft isn’t quite as stiff as other, heavily-weighted, shafts are, that it may be because it wasn’t keeping up with my swing speed. It is the straighest driver I have ever hit.

The MACTEC NVG2 driver is geared more toward the average player, with more weight in the heel area to fight a slice, a less-stout shaft, and a slightly simplified design that is more cost efficient.

Was the stiff shaft difficult to load? I have about a swing speed and thought the regular shaft would suit me better.

Two weeks ago I had my first-ever yard drive ok, the hole played way downhill, but still! Thank you, your review has been submitted successfully and will be included on the page once approved.
